Music & Bones
Why music?
Because it’s intrinsic to humanity.
Why bones?
Same reason.
So it only made sense to combine them. When I’m creating something that I want to be felt universally, I am drawn to skeletons. Sure, it fits the punk/ rock aesthetic, but I’m more concerned about not creating an expectation of individual characteristics that might not resonate with someone. Skulls resonate with everyone. There’s one inside you shaking about right now! As for music, well, the pieces more or less speak for themselves, I think. I want to create art for music lovers that doesn’t feel pigeon-holed in adolescence and isn’t over-simplified even as the core of it, “I love music”, is very simple. While music may be universally enjoyed by plant and animal alike, to create music, to gather our evolved experience and compose it into rhythms and melodies, is a uniquely human capability. It’s a form of communication; by design, meant to be heard. So while people may have wildly varying tastes in music, it goes without saying that it sounds better shared.
